What inspires me!

Someone once told me if you plant a garden you believe in the future. How true! On a gloomy day with threats of rain, I perused my garden taking in all the sad little plants that made it through those cold windy days and pondered if I would again see color. Spreading seeds in a random fashion and stuffing bulbs with reckless abandonment, I whispered grow little plants grow. The neighborhood squirrel was near by keeping an eye on the nuts he'd so carefully planted. Wanting to shoo him away..it was clear we could both live in harmony. Well! believing in something has power. My garden has burst of color in every nook and cranny. How could anyone be out of sorts with the promise of such beauty. I took out my paints and brushes and today I am feeling renewed.

Note from Dorothy

This is my first blog. I will keep you updated on events and what is happening with my art. Of course, there will be mention of my garden and how it inspires me. As an artist and motivational speaker, following your passion is always a good topic of conversation. I am sure I will have some notes on that! June will be a very exciting month for me. My artwork will be on display at Gallery Saratoga in Saratoga, California for the entire month. I am sharing this show with my friend Judy. She is a world traveled photographer and her wild life images are wonderful. The reception is June 13Th so save the date. More information on the time. I have posted some of my artwork and will change them out from time to time.
